What Contributes to Addiction?

Factors that Contribute to Addiction

By understanding the factors that contribute to addiction, you can identify if you or your children are at risk. If you or someone in your family has had trouble with drugs in the past, it places you and your children at risk to becoming addicted as well. While genetics can't be changed, the environment, which also contributes, can be changed. Hearing about someone with addiction can help you or your child to understand how easy it is to become addicted and how quickly addiction can happen. Knowing how it happens, what it does to a life, and the difficult steps involved in becoming clean can be a huge motivator to stay away from drugs.
